Short breaks in a cosy Scandinavian-style log cabin
Short breaks and weeks still available in December (before the 22nd) and from 2nd January. From £110/night (3-nights min).
Birchlea Lodge is a perfect base in mild Dumfries & Galloway for a break at any time of year. Close to the sea and near woods & forest in the popular yachting village of Kippford, there are plenty of opportunities for beautiful walks, or mountain biking on the nearby trails. Castle Douglas, Scotland’s ‘Food Town’ with many independent shops, and Kirkcudbright, the Artists’ harbour town, are both perfect for some unique Christmas shopping!
This stylish pine-log cabin is cosy but bright, and spacious enough for all the family or equally ideal for a romantic break for a couple. With verandas and level grassed garden there is plenty of outdoor space too.
There are many lovely walks in the village itself, including the coastal path to Kippford’s shell beaches or across the National Trust lands on the Jubilee Path to the sandy beach at Rockcliffe. With the proximity of the 7Stanes mountain-biking centres, beaches, several activity centres and attractive independent shopping at Castle Douglas & Kirkcudbright there is plenty to do.
Birchlea Lodge is well-equipped for self-catering or if you fancy a break from cooking, Kippford has 2 pubs serving good food within walking distance.
Note: dogs welcome, at an additional charge
